The new Digital dental systems are dramatically increasing patient throughput time and departmental productivity in this very busy X ray department.

Mrs Sue Walters, Superintendent Radiographer of Nevill Hall X Ray Department says “Our patient figures over the last 12 months have soared and we now have an exceptionally heavy throughput of patients for Extraoral imaging. We chose the Instrumentarium OC200D system because image quality is of the highest standard, the systems are extremely reliable for busy departments such as ours.”

The OC 200DVT with Smartpad is one of the new generations of Instrumentariums Dental Orthopantomograph X- ray family and represents everything expected from a high quality dental extraoral imaging unit. It carries forward Instrumentariums reputation of reliability and Clinical excellence and offers market leading innovations in patient and operator safety.

The Cliniview™ software provided with the system includes professional tools such as accurate measurement for implant planning, implant libraries from various implant manufacturers and free space measurements between VT slices. The implant planning tool helps the Orthodontist to easily determine the correct implant for treatment. Images can also be exported with a viewer.

The OC200 DVT is complemented with accurate and stable patient positioning, dose controlled automatic exposure, clinically proven imaging geometry together with a wide range of dose reducing features for both Pan and Cepahalostat patients.

Jane Wattam Superintendent Radiographer at the Dental Hospital’s X ray Department said “Our patient numbers have recently increased. We now have an exceptionally heavy throughput of patients for Extraoral imaging. We chose the Instrumentarium OC200D system because from experience the Instrumentarium OPG systems are extremely reliable and image quality is of the highest standard and we knew the system would withstand the workload“

The OC 200D with Smartpad is one of  the new generation of Instrumentariums Dental Orthopantomograph X- ray family and represents everything expected of a high quality dental extraoral imaging unit. It carries forward Instrumentariums reputation of reliability and Clinical excellence and offers market leading innovations in patient and operator safety.

The OP200 D is complemented with accurate and stable patient positioning, dose controlled automatic exposure, clinically proven imaging geometry together with a wide range of dose reducing features for both Pan and Cepahalostat patients. These new units installed at Sheffield also include auto collimation and a bitewing programme.

All the programmes on the OC200D are controlled from the large 12.1" SmartPad™ touchscreen providing an easy- to-use menu with simple and intuitive navigation.

The Vistascan Perio has enabled the department to retain their existing intra oral X ray units but to move from film processing to digital image capture, with captured images now being available to the radiographer in 15 seconds.

The Vistascan perio offers a wide range of imaging phosphor plates in the same formats as existing Intra oral film including Occlusal.

The advantages of the Vistascan perio system are that there is no re education required for the application of image plates as handling, positioning and choice of formats are the same as for film, with the added benefit of high exposure tolerance, excellent image quality, 30% higher sensitivity than film, higher resolution lower patient dose and long term system reliability.

Complementing the advantage is the DBSWIN software programme which enhances the diagnostic quality of the images through automatic and personal image optimisation.

The system provides a fast efficient workflow as well as DICOM connectivity to the HIS/RIS system and PACS.

“The Vistascan Perio is ideal for our busy department as we take a significant number of occlusal images and with the easy to use range of CR plates provided with the system we have not had to change our techniques but we can now offer our Orthodontists exceptional image quality and because the images are digital we can release patients straight away instead of asking  them to wait until we have checked their wet processed images. “Says Jane Wattam Superintendent Radiographer”
